What passes for leadership?

In too many school districts what passes for leadership is the spectacle on display at every public school board meeting. Local “authorities” like Todd Morgan get elected to the school board because of one issue that’s usually irrelevant to the important issues facing the school district. These local school board members generally gain power and are elected because school superintendents are not focusing their time and effort and the time and effort of their school board on the right issues. When multiple school board members with misguided priorities are elected, disaster ensues.
